'From The Heart of Gold Projects' Solo Exhibition Opening 2008 -by Tarryn Gill & Pilar Mata Dupont

The 'Heart of Gold Projects' are elegantly staged investigations of nationhood that reference many 20th Century sources, such as Hollywood musicals, Burlesque, military/cultural propaganda and local European/Australian folklore.
The projects on display were all 12 images from Heart of Gold Project 3, which are also found in our 2008 calendar.
We included Heart of Gold Project 2, a film of Busby Berkeley-esque performances by some Military 'Dolls', and also the lush 'Heart of Gold Project 4', a bushranger story told through dance on location in the wheatbelt.
A big thank you to Melissa Keys, who opened the show; to Robert Cook for writing our catalogue essay; to James Hensby for our invitation and room sheet design; Charlie's Estate Wines for sponsoring us; and to all the staff at the PCP for their support and assistance.
